Vortex Entertainment Private Limited values your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Vortex Play IPTV service, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Vortex Play IPTV apps on Android (Google Play), Samsung (Tizen), LG (webOS) and Amazon Fire OS, as well as our website.
1. Who we are
The Vortex Play IPTV service and apps are provided by Vortex Entertainment Private Limited, a company incorporated in India. We are the data fiduciary responsible for your personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. For any privacy question or request, contact us at privacy@vortexplay.in.
2. Information we collect
Depending on the services you use, we may collect the following categories of information:

3. How we process your information
Vortex Play processes personal information in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws. We process personal information where it is necessary to:
- •activate and manage the IPTV service associated with your Vortex Broadband subscription;
- •authenticate your account and authorised devices;
- •provide subscribed channels and related services;
- •process billing and payments;
- •provide customer support;
- •comply with applicable legal, regulatory and contractual obligations; and
- •protect the service against fraud, misuse and unauthorised access.
4. Your consent
Where your consent is required under applicable law, we will request it separately. Where permitted by law, you may withdraw such consent by contacting us at privacy@vortexplay.in.
5. App permissions
The Vortex Play apps request only the permissions necessary to provide the IPTV service, including internet access for authentication and streaming, and notification permission where supported to deliver important service-related notifications.
The apps may use their own secure application storage to maintain your login session, remember your preferences and support normal app functionality.
The apps do not access your camera, microphone, location, contacts, messages, photos or personal media files. If we introduce features that require additional permissions in the future, we will clearly explain their purpose and request any required permissions before they are used.
6. Advertising and promotional content
Vortex Play does not display third-party advertising or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
From time to time, the app may display information about Vortex products, services, subscription plans, offers or other service-related announcements. Such promotional content is provided by Vortex and is not based on third-party behavioural advertising.
7. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share personal information only where necessary with:
- •payment processors to process billing and payments;
- •service providers who help us operate, maintain and support the Vortex Play service;
- •authorised technology providers responsible for authentication, digital rights management (DRM), subscriber management and content entitlement;
- •broadcasters or content partners where required for contractual, audit or regulatory purposes; and
- •government authorities, regulators or law enforcement agencies where required by applicable law.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to support authentication, security, website functionality and user preferences.
The Vortex Play apps may use secure application storage or similar technologies to maintain login sessions, remember preferences and support normal app functionality. These technologies are not used for third-party behavioural advertising.
You can manage website cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the website.
9. Where your data is stored
We primarily store and process personal information on servers located in India.
Where personal information is processed by authorised service providers outside India, we take reasonable steps to ensure that it is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws.
10. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit using industry standard TLS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Vortex Play service and to comply with applicable legal, tax, regulatory, contractual and audit requirements.
When personal information is no longer required for these purposes, it is securely deleted or anonymised in accordance with our data retention practices.
12. Your rights
Subject to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, withdraw consent where processing is based on your consent, and nominate another person to exercise your rights where permitted by law.
Some requests may be subject to legal, regulatory, contractual or audit-related retention requirements.
13. IPTV add-on cancellation, account deactivation and data requests
Vortex Play accounts are automatically created and managed as part of the subscriber's Vortex Broadband account when the IPTV add-on is activated. Users do not create a separate standalone Vortex Play account inside the TV app.
A subscriber may request cancellation of the IPTV add-on, deactivation of Vortex Play access, correction of personal information, or deletion of personal data that is no longer required.
Requests may be submitted by emailing privacy@vortexplay.in from the registered email address.
After verifying the request, Vortex will deactivate the IPTV entitlement and delete or anonymise personal data that is no longer required for the service.
Certain records may continue to be retained where required for billing, taxation, accounting, TRAI compliance, broadcaster obligations, audit, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or other legal and regulatory purposes. Such retained information will be deleted or anonymised when the applicable retention requirement ends.
Cancellation of the IPTV add-on does not automatically cancel the subscriber's Vortex Broadband connection.
14. Children's privacy
Vortex Play subscriptions are intended to be created and managed by adult Vortex Broadband subscribers. While the service may be used by children under the supervision of a parent or guardian, we do not knowingly permit children to create Vortex Play accounts or directly provide personal information to us.
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children's use of the service and any parental controls available on their devices.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, business practices, or legal and regulatory requirements. The latest version and the 'Last updated' date will always be available on this page.
